This got me thinking, how can I get these tidbits into the hands of others? Cue triumphant music- a weekly roundup of things that have piqued my interest! Oh so clever (not at all). So, I'm pleased to bring you the first installment of "On My Radar," a series of things that are, well, on my radar.
First up is this post from Julie Gumm, There is No “Best” Type of Adoption. Julie does a great job of explaining how adoption is a calling from God and we're each called in a different way. You can find my comment I wrote while boohooing about this very subject at the bottom.
Next up is the incredible news out of China from today that they're loosening their ill-conceived "One Child" policy. There are still lots of unknowns, such as will parents who have relinquished children to orphanages due to this policy be allowed to reclaim their children, but my heart is encouraged that the Chinese government is owning up to the issues this policy has caused.
Thirdly is the documentary "Stuck," a film about international adoption and the bureaucracy that keeps children institutionalized instead of in families. Incredibly moving and heartbreaking, and informative for even those who know a bit about international adoption.
Lastly is this video my friend Sarah shared. The beauty of such a simple, kind act moved me to tears.
Have a great weekend all,
